New waste and recycling service
COMING SOON
From 6 April 2026 Dudley Council will be rolling out a new waste and recycling service, to include weekly food waste collections and simplified recycling, to improve recycling rates by making it easier for residents.
All councils must put food waste collections in place by April 2026, under new government legislation being introduced. Recycled food waste is a valuable resource and can be turned into natural forms of energy such as biogas, or fertiliser/soil conditioner for farming.
From early 2026 residents will begin to receive their three new waste containers – a blue wheeled bin (for mixed recycling: cans, plastic, glass, cartons), kerbside food caddy and smaller kitchen food caddy – complete with a roll of liners (the kitchen food caddy’s contents will be emptied into the larger outdoor kerbside food caddy for collection.
