New waste and recycling service
From 6 April 2026 Dudley Council launched a new waste and recycling service for people living in Dudley borough. This includes weekly food waste collections and simplified recycling, to improve recycling rates, by making it easier for residents.
New government legislation has meant that all councils have had to put food waste collections in place in 2026. Recycled food waste is a valuable resource and can be turned into natural forms of energy such as biogas, or fertiliser/soil conditioner for farming.

All households across Dudley borough now have three new waste containers – a blue wheeled bin (for mixed recycling: cans, plastic, glass, cartons), a kerbside food caddy and a smaller kitchen food caddy – complete with a roll of liners (the kitchen food caddy’s contents will be emptied into the larger outdoor kerbside food caddy for collection).
